SUMMARY:PERFORMANCE - Dancing at the Antique Show in John Dam Plaza
DESCRIPTION:Dancing at the Antique Show in John Dam Plaza – July 25\, 2026 \nCome join us for a morning of dance at the HUNT & GATHER VINTAGE IN THE PARK SHOW in John Dam Plaza\, between Jadwin Ave. and George Washington Way in Richland (NOTE – this is NOT Art in the Park at Howard Amon Park). \nFull costume Show! \nBE HYDRATED in the days LEADING UP TO THE SHOW!  Dancers drink 60-80 oz of water per day in the 3-5 days leading up to the show.  Waiting to drink water on the day of the show will be too late to prevent overheating. \nRemember to bring a cooling scarf.  Small hand towels or misters are good too for dancers in multiple routines. SMART WATER is recommended as it has electrolytes and won’t stain costumes. Cool water is ok but heavy ice water is NOT advised as it cannot be used in case of emergency.  \nBefore you leave the house – have hair & makeup done. Eat a good\, healthy breakfast. Apply sunscreen. Use the restroom. Bring WATER. Allow extra time to travel and park as this on Hydro weekend and the Art in the Park events.  You can park at the south end of John Dam Plaza or across the street in the Federal Building Parking Lot. \nPARENTS – You may want to pack light\, healthy\, CLEAN snacks as this is a long morning. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets to watch the show and invite guests. Blankets are also recommended for your dancer’s class to sit ‘backstage’ between routines. \nWE NEED SET UP AND TEAR DOWN VOLUNTEERS – Sign up on the volunteer sheet on the hall table.  This is a big show with full floor set\, full sound equipment with speakers on stands\, and changing tent. \nDANCERS – REMAIN IN THE STAGING AREA. Do not walk in front of the stage or hang out behind the stage. Do not run around the audience during the show. The audience can see everything happening around the stage\, so please be on your most professional behavior. Be lined up ‘backstage’ and ready for bows at the end. \nEveryone help clean up the area\, tear down the floor\, sound equipment and changing areas\, load the van and check for water bottles\, etc.  Many hands make light work\, and the older dancers very much appreciate that they can change and recover after the show while parents/volunteers take care of this. \n9:00 – Spotter for the van in place and ready to help the van driver maneuver across the park.  Please email if you can be the spotter.\n9:15 – Set floor\, sound system\, and dressing area/tent – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THIS; please sign up on the Volunteer List or send us an email if you will help.  See FLOOR SET Instructions at the end of this note. We need at least 8-10 people to help set & tear down the floor\, canopies\, and sound system.  It takes two people to carry & set each board\, at least 4-6 people to tape the floor\, and 4 people to set the canopies.  Please bring an umbrella (standing or clamp) if you have one\, for our sound tech. \n9:15 -CLOGGERS READY to set formations and warming up at the Stage Area near the North end of John Dam Plaza. Dress appropriately for outdoor changes with minimal to no privacy. \n9:30 – ALL DANCERS READY and warming up at the Stage Area near the North end of John Dam Plaza. Dress appropriately for outdoor changes with minimal to no privacy. \n9:45 TEAM PHOTO \n10:00-11:30 – Show Time!  Actual duration depends on number of routines. \n11:30ish – Tear down floor\, sound system & changing tent.  Be sure to put things away carefully so they are ready for the next show. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THIS; please sign up on the Volunteer list or send us an email that you can help. \nBring ALL costumes. Wear tights\, leotard or biketard\, black leggings/shorts/pants\, blue studio t-shirts or clogging shirts if you have them to/from venue. Always wear mostly white shoes you can dance in to/from events. \nDANCERS – hair in neat bun.  Dancers who are not in a ballet routine may wear their hair the same as the cloggers.\nCLOGGERS – hair side-parted low ponytail; secured away from the face with a BLACK hair band. No fly aways\nMakeup for all – Light makeup\, berry lipstick (not chapstick). Remember water\, sunscreen\, and blankets to sit on in the backstage area. \nFloor set instructions – adjust as needed based on how the event is laid out this year. Dancers are okay to dance off the stage if needed for larger routines. \nSet the floor facing East on the largest section of the brick sidewalk and in as much shade as possible. See the picture at the top of the page for reference.  This is typically a 24′ W x 16′ D floor.  The boards are 4 x 8\, so this will be 12 boards total.  Rough side goes down; smooth side up.  Try to place boards with worn corners on the outer edges and boards that appear the least slick in the center of the stage. \nConnect the boards with the white duct tape.  Use ONE piece of tape for the full length of the seams and run the tape a few inches off the ends of the boards to attach the tape to the side walk. Do not stretch the tape too tight.  Have dancers walk the tape to fully secure it to the boards.  Several dancers and parents know how to do this\, so EVERYONE please help!

SUMMARY:MOVE DAY!
DESCRIPTION:The wait is over\, and the move to our new studio is underway!  A dance dad volunteered his large\, enclosed trailer to help us move the big stuff this Saturday. Some of you offered to help\, and we’d love to have you!  We plan to move floors\, furniture\, trophy cases\, file cabinets\, 4 x 8 floor boards\, and ballet barres among other things.   We may try to move the smaller mirrors if we have the resources.  Please bring blankets for our glass items like trophy shelves and mirrors. \nSome items\, like costumes and props\, will move to my garage for storage until we have more space at the new studio.  We will probably make 2-3 trips to the new studio and my house. \nPlease meet at the current studio on Vista Way at 10:00 am if you can help. Bring a drill if you have one to help us remove and possibly install/secure barres\, shelves\, and trophy cases. Hand trucks are helpful to move trophy cases and file cabinets if you have one.

Pay THE STUDIO to reserve a seat in the Hot Corner.  Buy all other tickets online through the Dust Devils at regular price. \nYou will need to pay for parking if you arrive after 5:15.  Parking is $5 online or at the stadium and is CARD only. The stadium and vendors only accept card payment and do NOT take cash. \nOther Events – There are other events in the stadium while we are setting up and preparing for our show. Please stay in our dance area. Do not wander around or interfere other vendors or events. \nAnyone not helping with set up at 4:00 will need to wait to enter at their designated time (see arrival times below).  Bring all of your costumes\, water\, lipstick\, etc with you as you cannot leave and re-enter once inside the stadium. Water is allowed in a SEALED bottle in your dance bag. We recommend a sealed bottle of Smart Water. You can also bring an empty bottle and put water in it after entry. \nSTAGGERED ARRIVAL TIMES – ENTER THROUGH THE GATE TO THE LEFT OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE. You will see the stage on the left as you approach the stadium. \n4:00 pm – Set sound system and dressing area/tent.  They have a new stage\, so we do not have to set the floor!! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THIS; please email us if you will help.  We need at least 6-8 people to help set & tear down the canopy and sound system and tape rough spots on the stage. \nCheck in at our Attendance Table as you enter to be sure we know you arrived and are ready for the show. \n4:30 – ALL DANCERS AGE 9 AND UP\, dancers with costume changes\, and CLOGGERS ready to enter. \n4:45 – CLOGGERS reset routines. Change shoes AFTER reset.  Dancers age 9 & up warming up. \n5:00 – HIP HOP MINIS\, MINI-COMBO\, TODDLERS and TWINKLE STARS ready to enter. \n5:15 – TEAM PHOTO – Everyone ready to dance \n5:20– Show Briefing for dancers and parents.  We need 1-2 people to run music and 2 people to give dancers a hand when using the stairs to the stage; the stairs are narrow and there is no handrail. \n5:30 pm – Gates open. Show Time!  Actual duration depends on number of routines. \n6:15 ish – Tear down sound system\, check-in table\, banner & changing canopy.  Be sure to put things away carefully so they are ready for the next show. Please help with this.  The adult cloggers & Miss Wendy VERY MUCH APPRECIATE help with this. \n6:25– National Anthem – Everyone please stop whatever you are doing and stand for the National Anthem. \n6:30 – Game time!   Please wear your recital t-shirt\, blue studio t-shirt or clogging shirt for the game. People love to recognize you after the show.  You can also run across the field during the 7th inning stretch and of course dance to everything!  Our seating is in General Admission bleachers along the 3rd base line unless you are in the HOT CORNER. The Hot Corner are seats with tables at 3rd base. \nBring ALL costumes. Wear tights\, leotard or biketard\, black leggings/shorts/pants\, blue studio t-shirts or clogging shirts if you have them to/from venue. Wear your recital costume for the show and studio t-shirts for the game. \nDANCERS – hair in neat bun if you dance ballet.  Non- ballet dancers wear hair the same as cloggers.\nCLOGGERS – hair side-parted low ponytail; secured away from the face with a BLACK hair band. No fly aways \nMakeup for all – Light makeup\, berry lipstick (not chapstick). Remember water\, sunscreen\, cooling scarf if it’s hot and blankets to sit on in the backstage area. \nPARENTS – Be sure your dancer eats a healthy meal and has plenty of water; SMART WATER in a SEALED bottle is recommended as it has electrolytes. No outside food or drinks are permitted except dancer’s water bottles in their bags. They will set up a water station for us as well. \nDANCERS – REMAIN IN THE STAGING AREA. Do not run around the audience before or during the show unless you are handing out fliers. Be ‘backstage’ and ready for bows at the end. \nPOST -SHOW – ALL HANDS ON DECK to help tear down the sound system\, check-in table\, banner and dressing areas and check for water bottles\, garbage\, etc.  We really appreciate EVERYONE’S help!!  \nFloor set instructions – They have new stage this year on the East side of the main entrance.  We will have the floor in the van but do not plan on needing it. \nFloor set instructions are below IF we need to use them. \nSet the floor facing SOUTH about 12″ from the stage.  This is typically a 24′ W x 16′ D floor.  The boards are 4 x 8\, so this will be 12 boards total.  Try to place boards with worn corners on the outer edges and boards that appear the least slick in the center/front of the stage. \nConnect the boards with the white duct tape.  Use ONE piece of tape for the entire seam and run the tape a few inches off the ends of the boards to attach the tape to the side walk. Do not stretch the tape too tight.  Have dancers walk the tape to fully secure it to the boards.

SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Parade and Performance - Prosser State's Day
DESCRIPTION:Our participation in these events is cancelled this year.  Prosser is holding the Jr. Miss Prosser Pageant instead of doing a stage show this year.  The parade is still happening\, however had low commitment for the parade and did not have confirmation of a driver as of Monday for the clogging trailer so decided to cancel our participation in the event.  Both events are still happening\, we just will not be there as a dance group. The parade has a lot of floats that are not in the Kennewick parade.  It also has a lot of shady areas to watch from.  The pageant will be at the park.  The stage at the park is in the shade and has benches to sit on that are also in the shade.  Enjoy your day! \n  \nWe always have a great time participating in the Prosser States Day Parade\, then we go over to Prosser Memorial Park and perform our stage show as part of the States Day festivities! \nProsser Parade and Stage Show details: \nMeet at SW Bennett Ave by the bus barn for Keene River View Elementary School in Prosser. Take 2nd Prosser exit (Exit 80) by McDonalds and follow signs (or google it). \n\n7:30 am – Unload van\, decorate floats\, set sound systems. You all did a stellar of decorating the floats and helping undecorate at the Kennewick parade.  Let’s do it again!\n7:50 – Check in for attendance and formation placement. Have hair and makeup ready for the stage show.\n8:00 am – Formations set; ALL Dancers and Cloggers practicing for parade\n8:30 and 9:30 – Judging.  Everyone in place and ready to dance.\n10:00 am – parade starts! All dancers and cloggers in place and ready to roll. We are in the first half of the parade to allow time to get to the park and change into costumes for our stage show.\n\nDANCERS wear blue t-shirts or recital t-shirt with WHITE shorts (teens wear black shorts)\, comfortable mostly white shoes\, white socks\, hair in a tight bun so you are ready for the stage show that follows the parade. \nCLOGGERS wear RECITAL T-SHIRT\, bring black clogging shirts\, stretch denim/dark shorts\, WHITE socks. \nDANCER/CLOGGERS (Kids who do BOTH DANCE AND CLOG) – wear your preferred attire but bring the other. Have both the Blue Studio t-shirt\, recital t-shirt\, with white shorts AND black clogging shirt with denim shorts. You are Swing dancers and could be asked to dance on the clog trailer or in the street depending on numbers.  Thank you! \nBring water & remember sun screen. Cloggers bring comfortable walking shoes in case your clogging shoes begin to irritate you. The parade starts at 10:00. Bring/wear a jacket; warm up pants over your parade attire as it’s typically cool early in the morning. \nWear your t-shirts & shorts for the parade (just like the Benton-Franklin Fair Parade). Wear hair ready for the stage show (buns for dancers\, side-parted low ponytails for cloggers). Sorry\, no high ponytails for the parade as there is not enough time to change your hair for the show. Remember your lipstick so we see your smile. \nBring all costumes\, tights\, undergarments for the stage show. Remember to bring enough water for both events in a spill proof container and your lipstick. Wear sunscreen and eat a good breakfast. \nPROSSER STATES DAY STAGE SHOW \nThis is a combined dance and clogging show with all costumes.  The show is at Prosser Memorial Park.  We will drive from the parade to the park.  We need help setting up and tearing down the canopy at the park for costume changes. \nThere is very little time to eat lunch & get ready after the parade\, so packing your lunch is necessary. Bring your own lunch or buy it at the park for fastest service. DO NOT HAVE LUNCH AT ANY FAST FOOD PLACE OR RESTAURANT IN TOWN; THEY CANNOT GET TO YOU FAST ENOUGH AFTER THE PARADE \nOur stage show is scheduled for 1:00 pm but usually starts early.  BE READY TO DANCE BY 12:30 PM; group photo at 12:45.
