SUMMARY:Parade and Performance - Prosser State's Day
DESCRIPTION:We always have a great time participating in the Prosser States Day Parade\, then we go over to Prosser Memorial Park and perform our stage show as part of the States Day festivities! \nProsser Parade and Stage Show details: \nMeet at SW Bennett Ave by the bus barn for Keene River View Elementary School in Prosser. Take 2nd Prosser exit (Exit 80) by McDonalds and follow signs (or google it). \n\n7:30 am – Unload van\, decorate floats\, set sound systems. You all did a stellar of decorating the floats and helping undecorate at the Kennewick parade.  Let’s do it again!\n7:50 – Check in for attendance and formation placement. Have hair and makeup ready for the stage show.\n8:00 am – Formations set; ALL Dancers and Cloggers practicing for parade\n8:30 and 9:30 – Judging.  Everyone in place and ready to dance.\n10:00 am – parade starts! All dancers and cloggers in place and ready to roll. We are in the first half of the parade to allow time to get to the park and change into costumes for our stage show.\n\nDANCERS wear blue t-shirts with WHITE shorts (teens wear black shorts)\, comfortable mostly white shoes\, white socks\, hair in a tight bun so you are ready for the stage show that follows the parade. \nCLOGGERS wear BLACK clogging shirts\, denim/dark shorts\, WHITE socks. \nDANCER/CLOGGERS (Kids who do BOTH DANCE AND CLOG) – wear your preferred attire but bring the other. Have both the Blue Studio t-shirt with white shorts AND BLACK clogging shirt with denim shorts. You are Swing dancers and could be asked to dance on the clog trailer or in the street depending on numbers.  Thank you! \nBring water & remember sun screen. Cloggers bring comfortable walking shoes in case your clogging shoes begin to irritate you. The parade starts at 10:00. Bring/wear a jacket; warm up pants over your parade attire as it’s typically cool early in the morning. \nWear your t-shirts & shorts for the parade (just like the Benton-Franklin Fair Parade). Wear hair ready for the stage show (buns for dancers\, side-parted low ponytails for cloggers). Sorry\, no high ponytails for the parade as there is not enough time to change your hair for the show. Remember your lipstick so we see your smile. \nBring all costumes\, tights\, undergarments for the stage show. Remember to bring enough water for both events in a spill proof container and your lipstick. Wear sunscreen and eat a good breakfast. \nPROSSER STATES DAY STAGE SHOW \nThis is a combined dance and clogging show with all costumes.  The show is at Prosser Memorial Park.  We will drive from the parade to the park.  We need help setting up and tearing down the canopy at the park for costume changes. \nThere is very little time to eat lunch & get ready after the parade\, so packing your lunch is necessary. Bring your own lunch or buy it at the park for fastest service. DO NOT HAVE LUNCH AT ANY FAST FOOD PLACE OR RESTAURANT IN TOWN; THEY CANNOT GET TO YOU FAST ENOUGH AFTER THE PARADE \nOur stage show is scheduled for 1:00 pm but usually starts early.  BE READY TO DANCE BY 12:30 PM

SUMMARY:Parade: Benton-Franklin County Fair Parade
DESCRIPTION:We always have a great time participating in the Benton-Franklin County Fair Parade! \nParade DETAILS: \nLook for the blue Lampson semi-truck. The truck and our float tend to be near Kennewick High School auditorium or the Library across the street. Wear sunscreen\, bring lots of water\, and mostly white closed toed shoes/walking shoes to dance in. \n\n7:00-7:10 am be at the float at to help decorate and practice dancing. Check-in is at 7:00 am for our truck and sometimes delayed.  So don’t worry if you see the semi driving down the street; we have to be escorted to our spot and will meet you there.\n7:50 – Dancers & Cloggers check in for attendance and formation placement\n8:00 am – ALL Dancers and Cloggers setting formations\, parade columns\, and practicing their routines\n8:30 and 9:30 – Judging.  Everyone in place and ready to dance.\n10:00 am – parade starts! All dancers and cloggers in place and ready to roll.\n\nThere is usually time to use the bathroom between judging and parade start time and maybe grab a snack that you bring. But please ensure your dancer uses the restroom before leaving the house and eats breakfast. Dring water in the DAYS LEADING UP TO THE PARADE. This helps prevent dehydration during the parade. \nDANCERS wear BLUE studio t-shirt with WHITE shorts (no denim and not too short).\, mostly white shoes.  Young dancers on the float may bring their blue dance bag to hold maracas between routines. \nCLOGGERS wear BLACK clogging t-shirt with stretch denim shorts (not too short)\, white socks\, mostly white shoes to practice in and in case something happens to your clogging shoes. Thank you! \nALL – Hair in a neat ponytail secured with a black hair band. No fly-aways please.  Wear mostly white comfortable closed-toed shoes for walking/dancing. Berry colored lipstick so the crowd can see our dancers’ beautiful smiles. \nPARENTS/OLDER SIBLINGS – We need banner carriers\, water carriers\, semi truck spotters\, people to hand out flyers and candy throwers to walk alongside our vehicles. Wear a studio t-shirt or Dance Connection polos if you have them; you can purchase from the office too or wear a blue or black shirt that you already have. Wear shoes for walking\, preferably closed-toe. Allow time to park & walk to the staging area. Bring only your water as there isn’t room for other ‘stuff’ on the float. Cloggers bring clogging shoes. \nToddlers and Preschoolers ride on the small float.  1-2 parents ride on the small float as chaperones to ensure dancers stay seated and help them with hand motions. \nElementary and older dancers dance along the parade route behind the small float. We will set formations at 8:00 am so please be prompt and check in at 7:50. \nCloggers dance on the semi trailer behind the dancers. \nWe need 3 very attentive Adult spotters to walk behind the dancers and in front of the semi truck. \nAdult Candy throwers are also safety spotters and need to be attentive to kids running into the street. \nALL – STAY TO HELP UNDECORATE\, ORGANIZE\, AND LOAD THE VAN AFTER THE PARADE. Many hands make fast\, light work.
