Dress Code, Studio Policies & Other Info

Hi!  Thanks for choosing Dance Connection!

Classes are at our NEW STUDIO at 5205 W. Okanogan Place, Kennewick. We are behind Mr. Car Wash on Edison Street near Kamiakin High School.  Classes start the first full week of September. Get your photo taken, pick up your Welcome Gift and dance!

Here are a few helpful items about our studio as well as our class dress codes.  We can’t wait to dance with you!

Miss Karen is usually at the desk so be sure to say/wave Hi when you enter.  This lets her know who’s in the building, and she loves seeing everyone!

We have shoes & dancewear for sale at the studio as well as through our online store at www.shopnimbly.com/kdc. No denim, pajama pants, or belts in class. Refer to the dress codes at the bottom of this page for additional details.

Parking - Please leave spots open in front of the roll-up doors to Quality Tint and the space marked ‘KDC Director.’ Thank you for your cooperation!

Hand washing – ALL persons entering the building are required to wash their hands upon entering and exiting. Thank you in advance for ensuring you and your dancer do this for the safety of our entire dance family.

Food and Drink Policy – No food, drink, snacks, suckers or gum in or around the studio or waiting areas. This policy applies to EVERYONE, including parents/siblings/etc, who enter the building. WATER ONLY is permitted in a spill-proof container. Students who attend more than 3 classes in one day may eat a healthy snack or meal. Consult the office to make arrangements to eat in advance. Please DO NOT place outside food/drink garbage, diapers or water bottles in bathroom garbage cans. Our policy is – you pack in, you pack it out, including diapers. Your cooperation to help us keep our studio clean and odor free is greatly appreciated.

Restroom Policy - Have your dancer use the restroom before leaving home so as not to interrupt class for bathroom breaks.  Accompany ALL children age 9 & under to the restroom to ensure the restroom is left clean and tidy for the next user.

Finding your class – We have 5 studios; 2 downstairs and 3 upstairs and observation areas outside each studio. The studios are labeled Studio 1, Studio 2, etc. Most Twinkle Star and Twinkle Toddler classes are held upstairs in Studios 3, 4, or 5. Other classes are divided amongst all of the studios. Check the class list posted outside each studio for your class or ask one of our staff members for help finding your class.

Lobby – We have 3 studios The studios are labeled Studio 1, Studio 2, Studio 3 and can be viewed from the observation lobby. Check the class lists posted outside each studio for your class or ask one of our staff members for help finding your class. Remember to change into your dance shoes before entering the studio as street shoes are not allowed on the dance floors. Bring all dance bags and water bottles into the studio with you. We also greatly appreciate when you put chairs back to their original configuration or put away folding chairs at the end your class.

Parent Observation – We respectfully request that dancers age 6 & over follow a drop-off/pick-up protocol and dancers age 5 & under have 1 parent in the waiting area. Our studios have large indoor observation windows for your viewing convenience but it’s more obvious and fun to see your dancer’s progress after a few weeks of not watching them. If you do observe, remember that students may not always appear to be attentive. Our instructors are well-trained to monitor student behavior while focusing on teaching the joy of dance. Please do not distract students by knocking on the window, pointing, or motioning to them during class. For non-dancers, we suggest taking advantage of our family discount and enrolling them in a class too!
